Rustic View 2010

These works reflect glimpses of simple rustic structures including huts, homesteads and shacks from various townships in rural New South Wales. These structures and their fragile conditions are intriguing for their blended colours and textures.

The cracks and dilapidated surfaces define the structures and over time they begin to create their own structures. It is the beauty of these colours and textures that represent decades of weathered surfaces. These structures are rustic in appearance and my tapestries are interpretations of an ordinary unadorned existence.
